Kolkata Thunderbolts advance to PVL 2023 semifinals after defeating Chennai Blitz

Chennai lost all two of their games, placing them last in the eight-team group. Kolkata are currently second to Ahmedabad Defenders with 10 points.
The Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium hosted Kolkata Thunderbolts’ 4-1 victory over Chennai Blitz on Monday evening without any surprises. The two teams were set to compete in the semifinals of the Premier Volleyball League.

The American hitter Cody Caldwell, batsman Ashwal Rai and All-rounder Vinit Kumar all make this team one of the most powerful in the match. However, Kolkata was able to easily defeat their opponents and quickly get their paperwork filled. PVL played with different rules than the other teams.

Chennai earned only two points; they were last in the eight-team table. Kolkata came in second with 10 points, as they were behind Ahmedabad Defenders with 11 points.

After Ashwal scored two points with a hard shot a moment ago, Purwakarta closed at 12-13. But Vinit kept the boat steady and broke brilliantly to win the first game.

Calcutta finished the next round two segments ahead. Two direct hits from both directions pushed them farther ahead.

The Kolkata Thunderbolts defeated the Chennai Blitz four to one, with scores of 15-12, 15-9, 15-14, 15-13 and 10-15.

The Mumbai Meteors defeated the Hyderabad Black Hawks 4-1, with the last three games being 15-12, 15-11 and 15-8.
