In the 2023 Volleyball Premier League, defending champions Kolkata Thunderbolts will take on home team Bengaluru Torpedo at the Koramangala Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru on Saturday.
A total of 8 teams will participate in PVL 2023. The PVL 2023, the second edition of India’s premier franchise-based volleyball league, will be broadcast live.

The 2023 Volleyball Premier League winner will earn a spot in the 2023 FIVB Men’s Volleyball Club Championship, taking place in India from December 6 to 10, 2023.
The PVL 2023 schedule includes 31 matches. Each team will first play 7 other teams in a round robin format. The top four teams at the end of the league stage will advance to the semi-finals. The PVL 2023 final will be held on March 5.
PVL 2023 Kicks Off at Bangalore’s Koramangala Indoor Stadium
Moreover, Bangalore’s Koramangala Indoor Stadium will host the first 10 matches until February 12th. Moreover, the next 10 matches of PVL 2023 will take place at the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, the final phase of the tournament, including both the semi-final and final, will be held at the Kochi Regional Sports Centre.
Furthermore, the PVL matches feature a unique format with 15 set points instead of the standard 25 points. Each team will also have the opportunity to utilize bonus cards, granting the chance to earn an additional 2 points, though it also carries the risk of losing 2 points.
Bombay Meteors Strengthen Roster for PVL 2023 Season
Moreover, for the first time this season, the Bombay Meteors have strengthened their roster with the addition of a talented line-up, including Brandon Greenway (USA), Hiroshi Santeles (Cuba), and Indian volleyball team players Karthik A, Amit Goriya, and Hardeep Singh.
Additionally, other prominent volleyball stars will be competing in the PVL 2023, such as Venezuelan Olympic champion Jose Verdi playing for the Calcutta Thunderbolt, Peru national team captain Eduardo Romi serving as the coach for the Blue Spikers, and Australian national team player Trent O’Dea representing the Hyderabad Black.
Additionally, PVL 2023 will feature several top Indian volleyball stars, including Vineeth Kumar from the Kolkata Thunderbolt, Jerome Vineeth from the Calicut Champions, Akhin JS from the Chennai Blitz, and Ranjit Singh from the Hyderabad Blackhawks.
